– Zorro … Are you old ?
– No, why ?
– And Claire and Momo, they are old ?
– Euh … If they were cats, yes, but as they are beans, we should rather say no during still some time, especially for Claire …
– Then, when are we old ?
– Look at this picture :

From 0 to 6 months old, you are a kitten : you think only of playing and of eating, and you quickly grow up.
From 6 months to 2 years old, you are a teenager : you begin to think in… I shall explain to you (or not!), and you eventually reach your grown-up size.
From 3 to 6 years old, you are an adult and in great shape.
From 7 to 10 years old, we can say that you grow in wisdom…
From 11 to 14 years old, it’s there that you’re officially old and that you decline little by little, it depends on cats.

– As our neighbor Bijou ?
– No, Bijou is 18 years old ; he’s deaf, he doesn’t have teeth anymore, he’s a little bit senile and doesn’t know how to return sometimes any more to his garden when he comes to walk in ours, he’s at the following stage there : with 15 years old and more, you are very old. Certain cats have no particular problem, they go simply more slowly, need for more tranquillity, while others are physically decreased.

– But… But… I’m losing my teeth, that means that I’m already OLD ?!?
– … *sigh*…

The age criteria keeps changing. I wonder if it’s different in Europe Vs the U.S. Our Merlin is turning 20 and our vet says he’s 100, old for sure 😉

  3. Sparkle

Don’t tell Binga she is one year off from being geriatric – she does not even think she is a senior yet! Boodie either (she is 13).w

  4. Nerissa's Life

MOUSES! Accordin’ to that chart, I’m a senior. Hmmm… Still enjoyin’ the nip like a kitten, though.

As for the peep, well… Peep #1 is ancient. As old as the hills, I do believe. Maybe even older! Yeah… OLD, for sure.

    Purrs,

When peeps get old, in cat years they are actually younger. When Mom had her last birthday she turned 12 in cat years. She liked the sound of that! Anywho…you two are both still youngins’ but we appreciate you letting us know that this is Senior Pets Month. We thought Lily Olivia was a senior, but we see from your chart she is geriatric. No signs of it yet. She is lucky. Kisses to Zorro from Calista Jo. XO, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Jo

Don’t-chu worry Pixie. You are loosing your baby toothies. I lost mine and Rumpy explained all about it. Toby and Timmy also told me about Angel Inky who stared coming in my dreams when I furst came here and was very very sick. He told me to stay with my new Dad and I would have a good life. It was hard but I listened and am so happy I did. He comes only now and then now and he was almost 22 when he decided to come home to Bast.
Keep up with the kitten fun my little pal
