How to get it touch with other blogging pets around the world

This post is also available in : French German Italian

badge septWhat we prefer in pet blogging, it’s to meet bloggers of everywhere united by a common passion : their pet.

September is International Pet Bloggers Month for the BlogPaws community, and we want to tell you how we met you, you, our friends :

  • We began by following some cats on Twitter.
  • In the profile of each, we went to look who they followed, and we followed other cats and diverse animals.
  • We also noticed that certain Twittpals mentioned a blog on their profile, then we went to see…
  • The very first blogger cat we met was Mr Bumpy. His blog is a little less active since the arrival of Baby Joey, because the education of this small human sets him a lot of time.
  • We followed his adventures and commented regularly on his posts.
  • We then began to follow certain friends of Bumpy, via the comments of his blog.
  • By them, we discovered the Cat Blogosphere and we found new acquaintances there.
  • Thanks to the Cat Blogosphere, we discovered the BlogPaws community and chose to be a member of it too.
  • All this took place only in English ; as we are lucky enough to speak several languages, we examined to find other cats who speak French, German, or Italian.
  • We enlarged our circle of acquaintances by following blogs, but especially by leaving comments.

That takes a lot of time, but it’s worth of it : several of our on-line acquaintances became friends in spite of the distance, and Claire was even lucky enough to meet some !

We love getting to know people all over the world. That is one of the big perks of blogging. And we have met some mighty nice people, including all of you. Happy Wednesday to all of you.

We found the Cats Blogosphere after Mum retired and she had more time to go on the internet and by chance found Eric and Flynn’s blog (from Devon,UK) and started following them and then got brave and made the odd comment and found lots of cats from all over the world there. Then we took a deep breath and asked their Mum how to go about getting on the CB and she was very helpful and we started to blog.

    Wonderful post!

We love ‘meeting’ other pets and pet bloggers too. When we first started about 3 years ago we had no idea there were so many!

The online community is wonderful! We honestly can’t remember how we found out about the CB, but once we did, we learned so much from the other bloggers. Before then it was like we were talking to ourselves in outerspace. We are truly grateful for all the wonderful people and kitties we have met over the years!

We started blogging around three years ago as a way to keep in touch with our little human relatives. Soon people started to leave comments on our blog. We went to visit them and now we know many wonderful people from all around the world. 🙂 Also, one of our blogging friends eventually told us about the Cat Blogosphere (even though as you know, we have pups too) and we also met people that way 🙂

I love all my international blogger furrends. I started the same way you did on Twitter. I met Sockington and started following his cat furrends. Then I started my blog.

My mum badly broke her leg in early 2008 and was laid up for some time. She got bored and googled ginger cats and discovered Fat Eric’s blog and eventually left a comment on his blog saying she had a cat called Big Eric. We have made many friends through blogging and mum has met some other cat mums and dads in person. We like that everyone is so supportive of each other.

Great post. Mom isn’t much of a Twitter fan. She got her start in Facebook and seeing a few blogs there that she began to follow. She lurked in the shadows for a long time before she started to comment and get involved.

One of the things we love about blogging is all the furiends we’ve made all over the world! We never could have done that without blogging…or other types of social media like Twitter and Facebook.

I think it is so cool how one thing leads to another. And yes, commenting is the best way to let people know you exist I think. Plus other bloggers really like comments on their blogs. When new bloggers ask me how to grow their readership, I always tell them visit/comment on other blogs and join BlogPaws. That is how I met so many other pet bloggers like you guys.
