DIY secure window

How to aerate the house in the evening to let in the freshness without Zorro tries to jump into the garden through the open window (and without I try to follow him) ?

It’s the big question since the beginning of the heat wave, and Claire finally imagined an answer. It’s her who built our two window protections, because Momo went on Wednesday to be operated to remove three plates he had in his right wrist. Everything went well, but he cannot do much.

Claire used wooden small boards, wood lattice for vine creepers, and safety net for cat. She wanted to make something which is light, easy to set up or to remove, and little blocking. After an afternoon working, here is the result :
building protection

protection indoor

protection outdoor

The window protection holds thanks to two small boards which overtake on a side and skip behind the shutter which is opened ; it leans on the other side against the inside of the shutter which is closed. Ingenious, right ?

Do you not normally have window screens? Your design is ingenious and so well made. We are pretty sure Zorro and Pixie are not happy, but it is better to have them safe. So happy that Momo continues to heal. Calista Jo sends some kisses back to Zorro. Hope your heat wave breaks soon. Yay for Momo doing well 🙂
    WE like your screen invention.
WE bet it works well to keep the kitties indoors, but still lets the nice breezes come in.
Over here (Canada) we have screen mesh(plastic or wire) that often come with the windows.
We need the screens to keep the flies and bugs out.

Those look very nice. We have regular door and window screens. But if we didn’t, TBT would probably just put up some of that 2″ x 3″ vinyl-coated wire mesh.
