Hello ! Here am I ! Can you see me ? Above, on the left, in the tree !
We, cats, occupy all the space available on our territory, and it includes the vertical space.
Indoor cats must have the opportunity to climb and to reach high positions : a chair, a top of cupboard, the kitchen counter, an edge of window, a cat tree, shelves fixed to the wall just for us, no matter. The access to a high position allows us to observe our environment, to see unnoticed, to feel safe, to have a roundabout way to avoid meeting another cat, and satisfying our natural need to climb.
I am lucky enough to have a catified indoor, and outside, a garden with trees on which I climb, I play, and I hunt : could it be better than that ?
I wish I could climb on trees like my feline friends ;o)… or the cat of our neighbor who even got 5 minutes of fame while the firefighter plucked it from our walnut tree ;o)
MOL ! As you can see, I’m able to go down by myself ! Purrs
It would be fun to climb a tree.
We do have some shelving spaced along a wall where we cab climb up.
Julie loves it the most, but then, shs is the youngest.

Wow, how cool that you could get all the way up that tree, Pixie! You are very talented when it comes to climbing.
Lucky you! I get to go outside too but have never climbed a tree……………at least not YET! Happy Friday!
Hugs, Teddy
WOW look at YOU!! You a “tree dweller!!” Cody often is a “tree dweller” because he likes being up high on his cat tree, but sometimes he is in “bush dweller” mode too!
Wow! That’s impressive climbing, Pixie!
What a great bird’s eye view that you have up in your tree! We had a cat in our treehouse yesterday. Bentley and Pierre were not happy about it though.
We are good at climbing up, but not good at coming down, so we don’t get to climb trees any more.
That is very impressive sweet Pixie!
pixie…..oh em cod !!!! how kewl iz thiz !!! and de best part…de tree iz BURD FREE 🙂 green apple tree…rite !! ??? Claire can make ewe N zorro sum pie ♥♥
You’re right ! And the apples are delicious raw or for pies ! Purrs
OMC, you are really high up there! Are there any birdies worth watching? Are you having fun? We bet tree climbing would be the best fun ever!
It’s a lot of fun, and sometimes I catch a birdie ! Purrs
Holy cat, Pixie! Seeing you up there would make me nervous. How did you manage that?!?! Then again, because of where we live, my cats can’t go outside … but I’d love for them to be able to experience the outdoors like you can. We have one cat tree and I’m working on how to give them more vertical space.
You can do it easily with some shelves on the wall, and allow them to climb on some furniture. Purrs
Even though I give my cats supervised outdoor time not a single one seems to want to climb a tree for some reason–Amarula tried once and did not like it!
Wow our trees are more slender than your fabulous tree!
You go girl!!! Well done Mum and Dad!!!
Such beautiful photos of Pixie, the tree climber 🙂
You are one brave kitty, Pixie!
At first I thought you were photoshopped up there cos that branch doesn’t look too sturdy. I used to climb to the top of the door. I bet I’d climb the tree with you.
Dear Ms Pixel,
Oh WoW! You are very high up! I have never had the opportunity to climb a tree! Kozmo tells me that they are so much fun! And that there is a huge tree in Daddy’s backyard that he LOVES to climb.
You are so very brave. i am not sure I would climb up there!
Some day I hope that I too get to climb a tree!
Purrs
Marvelous
It must be so much fun to climb a tree. When I was a street cat it was in a city so I didn’t have trees to climb. Lexy was on the street in the suburbs, but she doesn’t tell me much about those days. You are so brave to climb up there!
Wow, PIxie! When you say “vertical,” you’re not joking around! 🙂
You are a good climber, Pixie. Flynn was too and nothing was too high for him. Eric tried, but was never very good at getting back down.
Oh MeOW Can you get down from there all by yourselfa// Dat’s soooooooo cool. big hugs
Luv ya’

Oh Pixie, good job getting up there. Most of us love to get up in trees and on roofs. Those are such great pictures of you up there. I bet it was great fun. You all have a great day.
Trees are great!
Shame we hardly have any here.
Purrs xx

YooHoo…Pixie….it looks like you’re floating 😀 I loved to climb too…just little trees, but every tree is better than no tree, right 😉 Unfortunately I can’t climb anymore, so no more nesting in the trees nor fences 🙂 Pawkisses for a Happy Day 🙂 <3
I love climbing and jumping. I have my tower, plus I can jump on top of the high curio cupboards!
Whoa! Just look at how athletic you are, Pixie! The kitties here stay indoors, but they sure do love their cat trees!
