Did you notice ? We didn’t post anything since Monday ! Our secretary is getting sloppy…
At our end, we’ve not been idle while she neglected our blog : we tried to understand all the implications of the new European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) for small blogs like ours. We spent all yesterday doing this.
This regulation allows every Internet user to resume control on his personal data, which is good, but the application is rather laborious. Moreover, Zorro has a very clear opinion on the question …
But that was before learning in the evening that the version 4.9.6 of WordPress, which release is planned on May 15th, should help us create our page about privacy in compliance with the RGPD directly from the « Settings” tab !
that new rules are for the trashcan… the weird thing is that you have not only to refresh all new posts it counts for the old posts too… yes we have nothing other to do than to please some guys who make rules no one understands… it also will be hardest candy for photography blogs… but fortunately we don’t live in germany where an army of lawyers will try now to squeeze money out of bloggers… shameful.
This sounds very complicated.
Zorro has the right idea!

My human has been very concerned about the gdpr, even though she lives in the States, because I have many visitors from the EU, and I want to keep them! I’m so glad WordPress (and my mailing list provider) are on it.
Gosh – that sounds very complicated……but I definitely think that Zorro has the right idea on how to handle the new deal there. Yep – that message of his is loud and clear (haha).
Hugs, Teddy
I agree with Zorro. If people want to unfollow a blog or email newsletter, they can just use the unsubscribe button.
I have been keeping an eye on the regulations. Although I am in the USA you never know when someone might think it is a good idea to do here too! One thing is for certain. I t is going to be a big mess! I have noticed German bloggers stripping down their blogs of weblinks. I see your “Likes” have vanished as well!
I have Zorro’s opinion.
Good thought, Zorro and let us “contribute” to your thinking. MOL!
I agree with you, Zorro.
We’re with you too Zorro! It does affect us in the States if we have any EU visitors. Bah Humbug!
This stuff makes my head hurt!
This whole GDPR stuff is crazy.
I love your opinions 🙂
Glad we don’t have all those regs here. Sounds confusing.
You don’t have them, but as you have European readers, you’re supposed to follow them… Purrs
We agree! It’s litter box worthy for us smaller blogs without a clue what to do.
Wow, that GDPR stuff is so complicated!
Yup, like so many above I’m with Zorro, too!
We need to get Äiti to check these out – and then we’ll hold a mass squit in in the boxes.
I think I agree with Zorro. I haven’t heard of this before and did a quick search but couldn’t find anything that pertained to bloggers. How do you learn about it? BTW, you commented on my giveaway blog post. If you have a friend or relative in the U.S., I’ll enter your name and send it to them if you win. Just let me know if you want to do that.
Hi Marti, here is an informative post about it : https://termsfeed.com/blog/eu-privacy-policy/
We would love to enter your giveaway and let a friend of mine enjoy the prize if we win. Purrs

I’m with you, Zorro…All these rules while we only want to blog and have interaction with our furriends…sigh… We have to dive into it now and we have found a Dutch video that makes it clear for us what to do next. Thank you for the alert! Pawkisses for a Happy Day despite all this …..peeeeeep… 😀 <3
