Visit to Aquatis

This post is also available in : French German Italian

A few weeks ago, our humans went to visit Aquatis.

Aquatis is the largest freshwater aquarium-vivarium in Europe, and is located in Lausanne, 40 kilometres from us.

Aquatis presents 5 biozones and 12 natural environments from all over the world ; the visitor discovers different freshwater ecosystems from all continents along the route, and is aware of their specificity and fragility, which must absolutely be preserved.

Let us introduce you to some Aquatis tenants :

My humans enjoy going to the aquarium. We have a big one about 4 hours away, so every few years they take a weekend trip to see the new exhibits. Yours has lots of interesting fish and a lovely turtle.

Wonderful … we have two aquariums nearby (we’ll not name them) but sadly neither seems to offer the variety yours does … we’re envious, and what beautiful images you’ve captured!

love the photos! I have a funny story to share. Many years ago when my step sister was about 5 yrs old we all went to the aquarium. Like your photo, they had turtles there. She had never seen a turtle in water and she looked at it and said “LOOK! There’s a flying turtle!!” it was hilarious because of the way turtles look like they are flying in the water lol

Some beautiful photos indeed, but I’m with several others above in that they’re also very tasty looking. Dad says there’s an awesome North Carolina Aquarium right next to his and mom’s favorite beach at Fort Fisher.
