The lockdown situation due to COVID-2019 has perverse effects on our humans : here are a few.
We have to anticipate to go and buy our food, and allow a little more time. Anticipating being a need at Claire’s, it doesn’t bother her too much.
The hours of wakefulness, sleep, and meals are completely out of sync with some of our domestic staff. This point is more problematic : our human needs a very regular rhythm, and a number of hours of almost feline sleep. When she realized that she was starting to go to bed regularly two hours later than usual, that she was getting up later but not really rested, that she was starting to nibble and buy junk food, Claire forced herself to go to bed at the usual time, started planning healthy and balanced meals again, and put on a wake-up call to get up in the morning.
Finally, forced promiscuity gets on the nerves of some. Fortunately, this is not the case for Momo and Claire !
We also noticed that we were a little behind the blogosphere these days, as if we had lost some of our « blogging mojo » : let’s hope it doesn’t last too long !
What about in your homes ? Do your humans manage to keep a semblance of normality in their lives ?
Our Mom and Dad were never normal to begin with MOL! We hope you find that blogging mojo, y’all are important to all of us!
We are lucky that there are no lines for the grocery stores. Toilet paper is still hard to find though. Stay healthy. XO
My human has always worked at home, so it’s pretty much business as usual for her. The only difference is if she wants to see friends, she has to do it via computer, and she is now buying groceries (including toilet paper) from the local restaurants! Weird times, but we are getting through them.
we hope it helps that we will be jailberds till may 11th… but shopping is scary now…
It is the same here. We have not been out for 5 weeks due to being higher risk but get meat from a local farmer/butcher delivered, and fruit and veg from a local supplier who now delivers which is all locally grown. It is slightly more expensive but so much better than what we were getting in the supermarket. I also have a friend who gets other shopping and leaves by my door for me, so we are managing well.
I am very glad we have our fields to walk around or I would be going stir crazy by now!

My Mom and Dad are as normal as they’ve ever been (HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA)……..seriously – we are all just trying to keep to our regular routines as much as possible. There’s comfort in repetition!!!

Things at our house are usually crazy, so not much difference. HahaMeow!
We aren’t normal here so can’t really comment on that. Life does go on and there is really no problem here in BC. TP and such have been limited so no more hording by folks. Those with a crappy immune system shop between 7am and 8am and peeps are following this rule.

Our mom hates planning on going food shopping. She says it causes a lot of anxiety. We’re kind of out of it, too. Stay well, friends!
All of our routines are off too, even the hamsters. Mom & Dad stay up later than normal, wake up a bit later, and have been eating a lot more – regular food and snacks. We’re very lucky that both of them have jobs where they can work from home.
Our huMom is retired, so it isn’t much different here. Purrs.
Mum is thankful that the stores she usually shops in are usually not too bizzy when she get there. Then she can get in and out quickly.
Yes, these are strange times, indeed, Pixie and Zorro. Our humans have taken to having their groceries delivered. They say it is much safer than going to the store.
It seems you are all doing okay under the circumstances. I’m glad about that. My wife and I are lucky. I did lose a part-time job but most of my work, and her work, are done from home. I do leave the house when we need groceries but I usually don’t have to wait in line. Our stores are always out of things like toilet paper but I know if we really need more I can get it if I show up at the store when they open.
I am lucky in that I have always worked from home for the last 10 years so the CORVID-19 hasn’t made as many changes for me as other people–now it just means that I don’t pack up to travel for a week or two every month. The cats seem mostly happy about that! But going shopping definitely takes much much longer!
I haven’t been to a store in probably 4 or 5 weeks now. We’re having groceries delivered. I’ve worked from home for over 10 years now, so no change for me. But having the hubby working from home too, that’s a small change. He enjoys work from home life though.
Son #1 always has worked from home, Son#2 took all his stuff home from the office and works from his home now…as does Hubby. Both are Engineers, so they do a lot of teleconferencing and Zoom-ing to get things done…but its hard for them to meet their deadlines, etc. However we are all glad they still work:)
I still work at my job as always, in the nursing home, I am ‘essential’…but it is not fun there right now, and peeps with dementia just do not do quarantine very well at all…sigh…but we have been blessed and this scourge is not in our facility. Phew!
So our routines are not too different, but Pipo loves having his daddy home to pester and beg scritches from all the time,MOL!
We do go to the grocery store, and the pet shop…but we wear our masks and gloves and use plenty of hand sanitizer…we actually found a whole shelf full the other day! OMC! TP is sometimes there, sometimes not… We have been able to find most of the groceries, fruit, meat and veggies that we want/need.
We are saving on gasoline though, MOL,MOL!!
