Autumn weather in May

This post is also available in : French German Italian

As you can see, I am not happy: Claire had 4 days off for the Feast of the Ascension and planned to spend a good part of that time in the garden, but that was not possible.

The weather was generally cold and rainy, interspersed with some rare and short clearings, to the point that our tomato plantings are confined (them too!) in the laundry.

And it’s gonna be like this at least until Wednesday !

Claire is less grumpy than me: she’s glad she doesn’t have to water what she’s already planted.

These humans… They really have a funny logic !

May weather is unpredictable here. We had one very warm week and now it’s back to normal, which makes the mornings a bit chilly. Sometimes it’s nice to take a break from garden chores, but as as kitty I bet you enjoy being in the garden as often as possible.

How is it you look totally sweet even when you’re looking totally upset?
By the way, we don’t even ask anyone anymore “how does your garden grow”, cause everywhere it goes from hot to cold, wet to dry almost in the same day now and it not only confuses kitties, but all us humans and all the plants ‘n’ bugs ‘n’ well, it’s messing with just about everything …

Pixie we feel your pain! We too has cruddy weather for almost 2 weeks with rain and the temperature hovering around 15 degrees and then on Friday we went immediately to July heat – we hit 30 degrees! and it has stayed up there all weekend! Mom is hoping to finally finish the garden! We hope it gets better for you too! And we hope you all have a marvellously happy week!

It’s been unseasonably cool here too…..we’re ready for “REAL” Spring……our weather guy said we might go from this cool SPRING to HOT SUMMER. Oh well – we can’t have it all can we?!

I would be happy with that weather! It is supposed to get SUPER hot here starting this Thursday…our AC is broken……they are supposed to come and look at it on Thursday and I am praying they can fix it the same day or me, Levi and Roary may end up in a pet-friendly hotel. (Lenny won’t go, he thinks I’m crazy to even think of that!)

Pixie, it is never a good idea to tick off a calico…even if it is Mother Nature doingit.

It must have been wonderful to have those four days off but having the weather to your liking really stinks. We hope warmer days will be there soon and to stay also. Thanks for sharing. Have a great rest of your day.

We wish we could share rain. OUR tomato seedlings are in the basement (til this afternoon) because it has been the driest May in a century. TBT is going to have to soak the beds to plant them.

On the other paw, we dont have ta walk in wet grass when we go outside…
