It is the deluge

This post is also available in : French German Italian

Since Thursday evening, pouring rains beat down on French-speaking Switzerland. There were big damages in several places and near us, but fortunately we were spared. Showers should last until Wednesday.

With such a weather, there was nothing else to do than sleep and sit it out.

My Master says: “Indeed! The surroundings of your house seem rather flat. The Lake cannot overflow and reach your house, of course, but could the Rhône or other streams and torrents do? We don’t fear flooding here. The drainage basin is not large enough for the stream at the far end of our garden to collect huge quantity of water. There’s practically no snow left now so the water is only rain mater. The danger, if rain goes on and on, is landslide. This has never happen right where we live but a few kilometres from here about five years ago. Have a good day!”

Luckily you have TWO cats to watch sleep to make you feel less unsettled by all that rain! ! 🙂 That is a lot of rain. We are glad you are safe and not affected. Hopefully it won’t affect too many people.

We wish we could send you some water (but not so much or you would be flooded too !). About the photo : Zorro was on the couch, and Mum took the picture from above, and it looks like you don’t know how to look at it (Mum either…). Purrs
