When I was a quite small kitten, my mom cat taught me that there were four seasons : spring (the temperatures are mild and flowers bloom), summer (it is very hot), autumn (it is chilly and it is raining a lot), and winter (it is very cold and it freezes). She told me that it was always like that.
But not this year : in 2014, we crossed directly from spring into autumn. Strange autumn, which began in June, without autumn leaves but with cool and rainy weather. I took advantage of rare sunny days to play in the garden. Claire says that it has been 60 years since we saw a similar summer in Switzerland : it rained a lot, many harvests were damaged, and several regions were flooded.
Did you also have a strange summer ?
Pixie, we had Summer in March and a few days in June and the whole week, from Monday untill today. So I suppose Summer has spread, but in between it’s Autumn…sigh. Pawkisses for a Sunny Weekend little Pumpkin 🙂

We had a very cool Spring, but once Summer started, it was quite nice.
We are hoping our Autumn will be nice, with some warm days too.

Our summer is still happening. Where we live, the head peep says we have two seasons: summer and not-summer, and we won’t see not-summer until at least October or November.
Sweet Pixie..all over things are changing…last year we went from winter to almost summer ..we have so far this winter had very cold temps..for us here in our part of Australia..we have had more frosts and not much rain…our winter ended on the 1st of September..we have had some days already 25 Celcius…but nights are cold..usually Spring we get our rains..now we are in spring I hope so..our dam has not much more water in it despite winter and already we are being told we will have another bad bushfire season…we had 5000 bushfires in our state last summer..and they expect more this season..last summer was the worst o can remember since the Black Saturda period…we had days in a row of 45celcius..i would be outsde at 2 in the morning and it was still in the high 30’s! so yes the seasons are weird..we have a man in our country wants to call a season Sprinter…hahaah hugs and loves Fozziemum xx
Pixie, we’ve had a very mild summer too. Though right now we’re getting some hot and humid weather. But it’s suppose to cool down this weekend. You just can’t predict the weather.
BTW, Pixie, your coloring is very pretty.

Weather is weird here too….a fairly nice July followed by “holy crap it is hot” September.

Our summer has been quite strange. It was very hot early on and then it got wet and stormy and now it is very hot again!! Weird!!
We’ve just had an incredibly dry summer! But then, my human read somewhere that the 20th century was one of the wettest ones for this part of the U.S. – so maybe this is supposed to be normal?
We have had a very diffurent summer here in Pennsylvania in the USA. It has been pretty nice really. The years I have been alive it gets very very hot in the summer. Not this year. Oh we have had a few hot days bu t just one here and there an no long stretches. At night it has be wonderfur. We go to the 60s F and even 50s. Dad really likes this as we do not get him all hot when we pile on after our reading time is over. Well, Dads reading to us time that is… He says it is a lot like back when he was little Almost as long as Claire say for Switzerland.

Our summer has been unusual too. Very hot at first, then August much colder and wetter than usual. We even woke up to frost on 2 mornings and that doesn’t usually happen until November.
Unseasonably cool here too all summer (we loved dodging the HOT weather). Pixie you are growing so FAST!
Our summer was pretty normal, a little cooler than usual (it only got to 105 instead of 110+),
We actually had a mild summer too, here in the desert–more rain than usual and temps quite a bit cooler.

We have definitely had a summer here! It has been extremely hot – in the 90s just about every day. Though we did have a week where it was cool and Mom needed a sweater. It still hasn’t cooled off. Summer is still going strong. Hoping autumn gets here soon before we all melt!!!
We had a much cooler summer than average but I liked it!
