Catsens, our favorite litter

By getting me back inside, Claire had to dream also of an essential practical aspect : my litter box.
I don’t like so much a covered litter box because I have my head often touches the top, then Claire bought me a magnificent box with simple design which will grant perfectly with the new bathroom (renovation planned this autumn in the white and blue tones).

It was then necessary to choose among the multiple existing litters : clumping ? Non clumping ? Mineral ? Vegetable ? After hours of thinking with Momo, Claire finally decided to take the Catsens litter, et and she did well !

I like this litter very much : Catsens is a clumping litter 100 % organic made in Canada. It has a rather fine consistency, doesn’t almost make dust, doesn’t stick on paws, and doesn’t have a particular perfume. The Catsens litter consists of clay of biological feed rank coming from Canada, and also contains a mixture of biological oil (edible) to inhibit the smells and control the formation of dust ; it’s organic certified by LETIS.

The litter Catsens absorbs the liquid very quickly : you just have to take the block of agglomerated wee-wee to put it in the trash can, and it smells NOTHING ! Claire sniffed 36 times at the block directly on the small shovel, she sniffed then so much time at the trash can, and nothing !

The price of the bag can seem rather high at first sight, but you must know that you don’t need to replace the litter during a whole month, or even more : yes, you read well, more than one month ! It is thus finally rather economic.

I thus give four paws up to the Catsens litter, and I am going to continue to use it.

Since Sunday, I can go out again, I am free !

Or almost: Gérard of Sécurité Chats made me a great enclosure at the request of Claire and Momo. He came at first one day to take all the measures, then came back on last Thursday with all the material and a heap of tools.

Gérard planted at first pickets about 50 cms in the ground, then put on long amounts above. He has also screwed some against the house and on the terrace. He placed the sliding door in the deliberate place, then stretched out the net on all the structure by adjusting the horizontal bars to stiffen this one, and by means of a cord to be stretched out on the net. The net is wrapped with every amount. Gérard also strengthened the angles of the enclosure. To finish, he fixed the bottom of the net to the ground by planting fasteners of tent with moved closer intervals. Momo then gave him a heap of papers of all colors, and he left.

Claire and Momo minutely inspected my park : it is really good work, and the fence is almost invisible when we pass in front of our home.

As my domesticated want to accustom me to go out in the daytime and to stay inside at night, I had to wait until yesterday (Sunday) to be finally able to take advantage of my space of freedom.

What a happiness of feeling the grass under my paws again !

Have you already heard about claws caps ?

Our opinion about declawing did not change at all (nor that of Claire moreover), but we discovered a much less cruel alternative for the owners who want ~~false~~ cats of which claws do not damage the furniture or the carpets.

We have a friend, Allie of the blog A Tonk’s Tail, who has absolutely incredible pink claws ! We have never seen it previously, and even if she is a nail tech, Claire was not able to tell us what it was. Then we looked, and we found here, or still there.

It is synthetic capsules which are sticked directly on claws ; they are not toxic of course, and the cat can still retract its claws if it wears it. Allie wears pink, but these capsules exist in several colors.

These capsules remain reserved for inside cats because they deprive us all the same of one of our ways of defense and prehension. But even if none of us would wear a similar thing, it is necessary to admit that has at least the merit not to be permanent and irreversible, and especially that it is not cruel.
