Because sometimes, you need a rainbow butterfly unicorn kitten

We know this sounds cornball, but this picture represents the spirit of the Cat Blogosphere for Claire. Indeed, a blogger had sent it to our human two years ago, while Momo was still in the intensive care after his terrible accident.

It’s fairy, cute, adorable, funny, magic, and thoughtful. Claire made a tattoo in homage to the incredible support that she received from you to all, readers and bloggers, during these difficult months.

When we saw Mewni at our friend Timmy, we knew that we needed to adopt him. Mewni also lives at Timmy’s : you were told that he was magic ! He can live in so many places as he wishes !

Pixie verified that it was a real unicorn before playing the circuit with him, then Zorro shared his armchair so that he can rest.

Welcome, Mewni !

Thanks to you, it’s somewhat as if all our friends were very close to us !

NB : Mewni has no butterfly wings because he travels with his teleportation tunnel…

Happy Independence Day to all our American friends !

Claire was 16 years old when she went during the last century for holidays in the United States. She keeps of it a wonderful memory.

More than half our blogger friends are American.
Claire is a little bit gloomy these days, because she has just realized that the plane is very expensive, and that she won’t be able to attend the BlogPaws conference to meet our friends before a few years… Indeed, other unavoidable spending is already planned for the next two years… Impossible to spend in more the equivalent of a month of salary on her alone for only four days : seriously, do you know how much treats you can buy with such a sum ?!?

However, Claire will go once to the United States with Momo (who never went there), it’s sure ! You must go there at least once in your life, it’s a country where there are so many things to be seen ! And we can already tell you that the route of these holidays will follow the way of friendships knotted with you over the years.

Rare Disease Day 2016

Today, it’s Rare Disease Day.

That doesn’t have much to do with us, cats, but it’s an important day, then when Claire asked us to speak about it on the blog, we said yes at once. The Swiss Cats are helping humans today !

A disease is called rare in Europe when it affects fewer than 1 to 2000 person (in the USA, when it affects fewer than 200000 Americans).

80% of rare diseases have genetic origins ; others are caused by bacterias, virus, allergies, environment, or are degenerative and proliferative.
50% of rare diseases touch children.

There are over 6000 rare diseases which are characterised by a broad diversity of symptoms. The disorders vary not only from disease to disease but also from a patient to another one suffering from the same disease.

This diversity can lead to misdiagnosis and delay treatment. There are seldom long-term effective cures, and quality health care is often very expensive.

Huge progresses are made every day thanks to a better international cooperation, like the development of new diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, but the road ahead is still long.
