How to protect your sowing from gardening cats ?

potager 3Two weeks ago, Claire began the kitchen garden. She sowed radish and salad; she knows that cats adore scratching freshly turned ground, and thanks to the active collaboration of our Angel Loupi, she developed several strategies to protect her sowing :

  • Build a frame and cover it with wire-mesh for hens to make a cage to place on the sowing.
  • Use a mini-greenhouse from the store (also for the sowing inside).
  • Place a sowing veil and fix it solidly to the ground with big stones or small pickets.
  • Place crossed sticks (supports of bamboo for example) on the zone of the sowing.

And you, what are your human’s tricks to prevent us from gardening ?

Exotic tasting

It’s raining today. In the wet jungle, the fearless hunter captured an anaconda. In the wet grass of the garden, I caught an earthworm. The fearless hunter brought back his prey to the base camp. I brought my earthworm to the living-room.

Summer in October ?

After a mean summer, we take advantage of a sunny and soft weather for two weeks. We remain hours in the garden, and Claire sometimes joins us with a thread to play with us.

I also watch the surroundings from the balcony, we have a better view.

But I know well that it’s autumn : the night quickly falls, and it’s enough fresh in the morning and in the evening so that radiators temper the house.
