A huge thank you to Roman from Easy Giga and his team who worked all Monday long to get back our disappeared comments (more than 10 ‘ 000 !). Roman took time to have several exchanges of e-mails with Claire on Friday evening, and even yesterday (on Monday), to understand the nature of the problem, to reassure her, and to inform her of the progress of the technical team. Easy Giga keeps all our true for hosting our website.
What we learnt of this misadventure :
- make regular backups of your blog (more than once a week)
- indicate immediately any problem to a person competent to help you
- even if you’re upset, remain factual and polite in your communication
What we have to learn to do :
- how to use our backups
- how to find or get back data
A huge thank you to you, dear readers, dear pals, for the 70 comments (if we counted well the notifications by e-mail, because some comments were lost all the same between Thursday and Friday) for Pixie’s Gotcha Day.
We didn’t reach our purpose of 100 comments, but we’ll make all the same a nice donation to the Haut-Léman shelter.
A huge thank you to Basil (Bionic Basil), Fudge, Parsley, Amber and Smoochie for the package we’ve just received from them : we’ll tell you more about it in a few days.
And a private individual thank you to Zorro on behalf of Claire for the living bird that he brought this morning at 6 am during her breakfast, and released in the kitchen…
Well, that’s a relief that it all worked out! And Zorro, you get an extra-special paws up from me!
We are happy things are getting fixed and that all comments may return.
A live bird in the house…wow!! MOL! Way to go Zorro 😉
Purrs Georgia,Julie and JJ
Glad things are well with the blog and comments AND how lovely that Zorro brought a LIVE BIRD to you as a special gift……..it’s the thought that counts right?
Hugs, Teddy
I’m so glad you had such good tech support and it all worked out. Oh Zorro, you are so thoughtful pal.
I’m surprised that Brian didn’t tell you this post would be perfect for his Thankful Thursday blog hop (https://www.brianshomeblog.com/)
Of course it would, but we were so happy to share this with you, and so glad the problem was solved ! Purrs
We are impressed, Zorro! We just hope our mom does’t expect that kind of special treatment from us. 😉
Backing up the blog is something I confess I don’t think about very often, but it’s done! An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure they say. Hope you enjoyed the bird in the house.
Nothing is as frustrating as online problems, so it’s great that you’ve got it all sorted. Isn’t it good luck to have a bird in the house, no matter how it happened…

Backups are so important but we all seem to slack on them. thank you for the the reminder
Oh, Zorro. We bet the bird didn’t even see it coming! And we bet Claire was … amused … okay, that’s not the word that came to mind but I’m trying to stay G-rated. We’re glad the blog issues are resolved.
We’re so glad you got everything fixed.
I have never backed up my blog , I need to learn to do that. Great job on the commentathon.
Excellent news about getting all your comments back.
Zorro – you’re supposed to keep the birds outside! You silly boy.
backups are important… the weird thing is that we remember that topic always after something crashed … murphys law ;O)))
I’m glad you got it all back. Doesn’t that give you a sinking feeling when something like that happens?
UGH! I am so guilty of putting off backing up my blogs. Thanks for the reminder and I am so glad that you are back in business. ♥
Thank goodness that all got worked out! Zorro, good job with the live bird!
Presents from Zorro, how sweet of him to think of his mommy:)
Glad you got all those issues resolved.
