Whit Monday

Today, it’s Whit Monday, and it’s a holiday here. In spite of some small showers during the second half of the afternoon, the weather was rather pleasant and sunny for this prolonged weekend.

Claire and Momo continued to plant things in the garden, and made every day a small walk around.

On Friday, three people came to install the new double blind to shade our terrace. It looks good like that, but I saw at once that something limped :

Yes, you saw well : the installation is temporary, because there is one foot with cartridge, and one T-foot, while there should be two identical feet with cartridge !

The factory made an delivery error, and two or three weeks will be needed before it’s corrected. Fortunately, the blind is all the same usable !

Pee-Esse : I celebrate my Gotcha Day on Thursday, don’t miss my commentathon in favour of the refuge of Haut-Léman !

Gardening Caturday

The traditional flower market of our village took place on Caturday under a radiant sun. The flowers were magnificent, and there were many choices.

Claire found pretty flowers to decorate the garden and the house, and she also dealt with the kitchen garden. I snoopervised all the operations, and I can certify you that the work was made properly.

We’ll show you photos later, when all the plants will have a little grown up.

Happy Easter !

Some of you asked me : yes, it’s the Easter rabbit for which I watched on Wednesday indeed !

He visited us this morning, and left something for the humans :

The tradition of dyed eggs for Easter is common to many countries, but here we also have another tradition that features eggs : egg tapping.

We play with hard-boiled eggs, before eating them, and rules are very easy : every player holds his egg in his hand and bangs it against the egg of another player to try to break the shell of the opponent, without breaking his own. The players agree to collide eggs summit against summit or base against base. The one whose egg breaks has lost.

Did you already know this tradition ? Have you already played ?

We found a video of this fascinating game in which one you can also hear some Swiss-German dialect of the canton of Zürich. For those who speak German, can you understand this charming presenter ?

Happy Easter !
