Finally the holidays !

We haven’t published recently and visited many people because Claire was still super busy with her work. But things are slowly starting to calm down, and the holidays can finally begin.

We had a nice visitor in our garden : a musk beetle.

We also have a beautiful resident : a carpenter bee.

The musk beetle came to say hello on Sunday during lunch, and the bee has been living in our log since last year. She’s a very nice neighbor, not aggressive at all. Her body measures 2.5 to 3 cm ; she digs perfect holes in the wood, and the big pile of sawdust on which she landed is proof of her efforts !

In the vineyards

Claire keeps running everywhere for her work, but manages to preserve Sunday to walk with Momo. There they are in the vineyards, above Aigle. In the distance you can see the village of Yvorne, with the bell tower of the church, and on the other side, the magnificent castle of Aigle.

Our blog keeps being neglected, and our visits remain sporadic : we hesitated to fire our secretary and take another one, but she has a special clause in her contract for the period from the end of May to the beginning of July : we have to keep her… We look forward to the beginning of July !

Trip in Switzerland : the Vièze Gorges

Last week, Claire and Momo took a very pleasant walk in the Vièze Gorges, 20 minutes from us.

From the town of Monthey, you can quickly find yourself in the heart of nature. After having crossed the charming Covered Bridge, built in 1809, they passed through the pretty neighborhood of Outre-Vièze (it climbed steeply !) before arriving at the grid bridge overlooking the gorges.

The walk could have stopped there because Claire is dizzy ; it would have been a shame. She decided that this time, this darn dizziness would not stop her : she fixed her point of arrival straight in front of her, and took her first steps, crossing in one go this vertiginous footbridge that swayed softly above a gap of 60 meters. Momo was so impressed !

She was rewarded : the decor was beautiful. The path runs along the river along the entire route in a magnificent setting and gently descends down to Monthey.

The walk is not long (about 1 hour), but the change of scenery is guaranteed !
